Color is one of - if not the MOST - critical element for creating visual
impact. While this may not come as a surprise, the message is being
reinforced by the fashion world's leading authority. Milan Design Week
2023 highlighted color's leading role in capturing our attention, both on
and off the runway.
Milan' s top recommendation for creating instant impact? Tonal styling.
Visually striking and immediately immersive, tonal interiors offer a
dynamic and modern approach to interior design.
If true monotone feels too stark, an extremely limited color palette can
achieve the same effect with added softness. Incorporating a variety of
materials, textures, and finishes also ensures spaces retain depth.
NEUTRAL WITH NUANCE
Neutral are enjoying an elevated revamp in 2023. Tried and true shades
are being given greater dimension with textural accents and special
finishes, like metallics and beading.
New, more pigmented shades, like blush and barely - there blues and
greens, are also expanding the neutral's range.
SUNBAKED HUES
Create interiors that glow with Milan approved sun baked hues. Spanning
earthy terracotta to barely there pink (that could also count as a new
neutral), these colors add warmth, richness, and a sense of openness.
DARK JEWEL TONES
Rich jewel tones in cooler colors add luxurious and natural ambiance to
interiors. Contrary to popular believe, utilizing such deep hues can make
a space feel more expensive!
